The

Yarn

Whisperer

The person I was designing this project for is
a person who was taught by her mother how to knit and crochet and her mother was taught by her grandmother etc. It is very personal and traditional art work that has been taught from one generation to another.

The idea here is to represent the concept of tradition into a visual branding for their business.

Progress

Competitor Research

I started the project off by looking at brands that have
similar ideas to what my client is focused on. For me it was important to understand where these brands are coming from, what type of products they sell and how they communicate their brand. Based on these five brands that I’ve looked up, I gave each 3 key-words that describes their style, mood and focus. With that I can see what they have in common and what we can do to separate my clients brand a bit to give it its own voice.
Persona
Moodboard

After creating the Persona, I have a clearer image of who my client is and how I can develop the brand to her person-ality. Based on everything I gathered, I started working on the moodboard that reflects the Persona. Looking at the mood-board, I can already see some elements I can use to develop some ideas.
Brainstorm

Before going ahead and sketch some ideas I have already created based on the moodboard, I wanted to take a step further and brainstorm ideas that can be used in the sketching process.
Sketches

Based on the moodboard, I’ve started sketching some ideas whilst listening to Florence and the Machine. The music really helped me to get in to the mood of my moodboard.Below are the further developed sketches.
